In this context, the future research process would entail the utilisation of the processes IoT and Big Data in development of sustainable smart cities through which built environments, urban spaces, infrastructures, buildings and mobility in transportation could be managed properly so that the urban economic value could be maximized.

The rationale of the study could be understood as the development of proper understanding regarding the process of transforming a city into a Smart City based urban landscape (, 2018). The factor of efficient resource management is one of the explanations. The UN has observed that 54% of the global populace resides in the city and this measure is forecasted to reach 66% by the year 2050 (, 2020). Thus, the identified research gaps have been relative paucity of research in the measures of determination of contribution of smart city designs in marketing and development of consumer perception, the details of development of sustainability through smart technological and urban space design solutions which could further delineate the impact of smart technology implementation on consumer behaviour and the living quality improvement of the smart city dwellers in terms of smart management space, time and energy (, 2014). To this effect, the research questions would be developed on the basis of such research knowledge development perspectives.

Research Philosophy

The research process would utilise the positivist research philosophy to logically analyse the collected data concerning the research problem under consideration. The respondents would be selected through a stratified random sampling method which would specify the research participant involvement through first formulation of mutually exclusive groups of respondents and then utilising random sampling methods to select the necessary respondents.

Data collection and analysis method

The questionnaire formulated for this purpose would be utilised to garner research information from the research participants in the manner of direct responses to presented questions. The generated data would be structured through the Likert Five Point scale data demonstration statistical table and the analysis would involve utilisation of relevant visualisation tools such as graphs and charts to properly outline the data analysis trends. Statistical regression analysis would be performed to outline the data variation measures to properly test the validity of the research questions in terms of these being reflected in the Primary data conclusions.
