Nylon: The most ravishing fashion innovation
Nylon was the first fiber to be synthesized from petrochemicals and gradually it was regarded as “miracle fiber”. After rayon and acetate, nylon opened many gates for synthetic fiber inventions that revolutionized the global textile industry. It was one of the most stimulating fashion innovations of the age. Women were particularly impressed by the strength, beauty and low cost of nylon stockings as compared to silk stockings. Consumers noticed nylon as less comfortable than natural fibers.
This study tries to investigate the ups and down of nylon as a fashion trend.
