Introduction

The research explores the clinical skill for the nurses which are required for improving the performnace of the nurses in infection control at the health and social care institutions so that they can serve better care and treatment to all the individuals. The clinical practice and guidelines are evaluated in this study which are effective to understand the practice of the nurses as well as technical skill and knowledge of the nurses through which they are efficient to serve better care and support the patents (Lynn, 2011). For example, good hand hygiene technique, maintaining cleanliness at the hospitals, providing support to the patents, respecting them, communication with them positively, personal grooming habits and taking care of the patients are effective for the burses to maximise their performnace and deliver quality acre to all the individuals (Lynn, 2011). Through this study, it is hereby effective to understand the important skill and knowledge of the nurses to improve the patient’s condition by delivering proper treatment and quality care as well as infection control initiatives (Lynn, 2011). In this regard, the study also needs to explore more understanding about the contribution of the nurses in making organisational decision in the context of health and social care setting, so that the skill of the nurses including problem solving, clinical skill and decision making skill would be beneficial for developing effective care plan of the patient in managing infection control and creating strategic planning for achieving organisational success.

The strategic planning to enhance skill and abilities through more research and training program, managing appropriate competencies, adequate distribution of necessary resources and effective regulations system including Patient’s safety and security are important for maximising performance in infection control (World Health Organisation, 2015).

The research focuses on the activities to improve partnership working among the nurses which explores that communication, respecting each other, maximining fairness and organisational culture, positive interaction and collaborative working practice are contributing factors which provides an opportunity to the nurses to improve their experience and skills through cooperation where they can contribute positively in the infection control strategy for better health and social care outcome (World Health Organisation, 2015). The study also explores that, the clinical skill and accountability among the nurses are necessary as well as proper disciplinary actions at the workplace, managing health and safety, cleanliness at the hospitals floor, technical skill of the nurses are contributing to achieve success in infection control where the nurses are efficient to serve better care to the patients and create values or them by maximising quality of care.

The study is related to clinical skill competencies for the nurses which are required for the benefit of the health and social care institutions to enhance their performnace as well as it is advantageous for the patients where they can get better treatment and quality care from the efficient nurses. The study explores that, the nursing skill competencies are necessary for improving knowledge and technical skill to maximise infection control system at the hospitals. In this study, the qualitative data collection practice is effective for gathering proper information and data related to the nursing skill required for delivering better care and treatment to the patients with patient’s safety by managing infection control (Lilian, and Zipporah, 2016). Through this study, it is possible to acknowledge that, practical clinical skill is necessary for positive health outcome and in this regard, the nurses attend more research and training program as well as gather first-hand experience by managing the patients in infection control at the health and social care institutions (Lilian, and Zipporah, 2016).

In this regard, continuous improvement of the nursing skill, putting the preferences of the patient first, empowering the patient in developing care plan decision and managing the individuals fairly at the health care organisations are effective nursing practice to enhance their performnace and treat the patient with quality care (Lilian, and Zipporah, 2016). Through this research, it is possible to understand the importance of clinical knowledge and skill for the nurses through which the nurses can diagnose the patient and analyse the health needs and personal preferences of the patients. The study needs to incorporate more in-depth knowledge about the practice and skill required for becoming an efficient nurse so that it is possible to develop proper decision for the patients. The study mainly focuses on clinical skill, bit in this regard professionalism and leadership skill also need to be analysed so that the nurses can take active part in the organisational decision-making behaviour.

The study explores the professionalism in nursing which is necessary for all the health and social care institutions in order to improve patients care and health outcome as a whole. Professional regulations are necessary to implement in the health and social care settings in order to improve professionalism at the workplace where the health and social care providers can maintain professional ethics, values and the rules and guidelines for serving the patients in a better and unique way by manging infection control. The study evaluates that, professional practice in the health and social care settings are useful for the health care providers to develop proper care and support for the patients as well as maintain the quality of the care and infection control system by providing sanitiser, alcohol hand rubbing at the doors of the patient and other places at the hospitals, using gloves and wearing socks while entering into the patient’s room, managing cleanliness at the floor and using medicines for infection control. Hereby, in the recent years, professionalism is necessary in all the health and social care settings for maximising the health outcome and cratering values for all the individuals.
