Bridging Experience With Academic Aspirations

My desire to join the university and be able to study Mechanical Engineering is accentuated by my need to expand my knowledge in a field that I already have a wide experience in. I seek to further my knowledge and sharpen my skills in the field that has always been my dream to build a career in. I am a hardworking and reliable individual who values good relations among individuals and colleagues and as such I enjoy communicating with people from all ages and backgrounds in order to be able to develop good relationships, much like the coordination between human and machines. An opportunity to study Mechanical Engineering in the South Wales University would therefore enhance the realization of my dream.

I already have a vast knowledge of the workings of heavy duty equipment and machinery given the history of my employment including working for Methaq International has widened my capability and perspective towards engineering. Furthermore, I have been a trader buying and selling cranes, fork-lefts, trucks and loaders, repairing heavy duty equipments and reading them for re sale, ensuring paperwork is completed correctly as well as selling of these equipment, managing their operations including their drivers and allocating them daily tasks.

In addition to these, I also have work experience as a mechanical engineering assistant, having worked for 3 years between 2004 and 2006 as a service and maintenance engineer for hydraulic machines like tower cranes. I also worked with the US Army for 2 years between 2006 and 2008 as a mechanical assistant servicing and maintaining tanks and heavy trucks in the Kuwait base. I have also succeeded in creating a hydraulic circle that is capable of adding an air conditioning to mobile cranes without need to be joined to the main engine. In this, I used a valve from the hydraulic pump to supply the compressors as to intake the air conditioning work. For those needing engineering dissertation help, these experiences have provided a solid foundation in practical engineering applications.

I also poses effective leadership skills having started a group with friends to be able to modify engines and make them useful in different ways, for instance we modified scrap machines to create a small crane and hydraulic arm magnetic end to collect and alienate metals from the dumps. I have also been involved in volunteer works in hospital to help disabled people with adjusting and modifying their wheelchairs to suit their needs and enhance their comfort. This included small cranes to be able to enhance their mobility.

I am willing to undertake further training in whatever aspect of the discipline that may be required for my full qualification in being a professional mechanical Engineer; in addition I guarantee my dedication and strive to always complete any work or task given to the best of my ability and in due time further highlighting my desire to not only join the institution, but be able to study Engineering. I am an open minded and flexible individual who is capable of adapting fast to different environments which effectively works in favor of enhancing my efficiency. As such I can be comfortable in whichever field of engineering I am posted within the scope of my skill range.

Among my hobbies and interests include reading and invention; I spend my free time dismantling toys and small machines to be able to find out how they work and their components highlighting my interest and enthusiasm regarding the internal working conditions of machines and hydraulic systems. I am also fluent in English and Arabic which further emphasizes my competency in public relations and ensures I am capable of working in different countries and with different individuals upon the completion of my studies.
