I am from a village named of Nepal. It is a federal democratic republic country that is situated in South Asia. It is positioned mainly in the Himalayas. It has also part of Indo-Gangetic plain. The estimated population of Nepal is 26.4 million. Nepal ranks as the 48th largest country by the population and 93rd largest country by its area. It is a landlocked country surrounded by India in the south, China in North and Bangladesh in its East and West zone. Nepal is famous for its diverse geography and fertile plain. It has eight of the world tallest mountains such as Mount Everest. Nepal is divided into three regions which have its own demographic characteristics. At the middle of this country, there is my town which is situated in the hilly region. In this hilly region, the population is heavy due to the position of dense forest and hills. Due to the demographic challenges in this country, there is huge inequality in population distribution which affects the overall social, cultural, economic and political system of this country. As opined by Bahle et al. (2016), the demographic challenges and unequal population distribution in the hilly areas leads to income inequality, poor social morality and lack of proper education framework which affect the overall lifelong experience of the habitats. The overall hilly environment and lack of availability of proper resources not only affect my education, and knowledge devolvement during the early childhood years but also pose significant effect my mind regarding dealing with the potential social, political and economic challenges. More than 60 spoken languages are used in Nepal, which creates a major difference in the culture and attitude of habitats. This is why; there is huge inequality in the population distribution, which affects the overall economy, sociology and politics of this country. During my childhood, I have also faced the stress and challenges coming from the poor economic support and lack of social and environmental resources in the community.

According to Boyadjieva and Ilieva-Trichkova (2018), family environment is important factors that influence the overall lifelong experience and learning process in an individual. I belong to a small family with my father, mother, one brother and sister, my father is a small business and mother is a housewife. As opined by Carr et al. (2018), the parent plays crucial roles in shaping the skills and knowledge of children. I am the youngest members of my family. Although my house situated in the village area, after my birth my family had shifted into the town area of Nepal. I am blessed with the opportunities of getting proper social cultural and educational support in the town area. As stated by Chen and Liu (2016), the lifelong learning process is influenced by the culture, economy and political structure of the areas in which the people are residing. I consider myself as luckiest people as I had grown up in a family which had a positive culture and highly modern viewpoints. As stated by compared to the village areas, the family cultures and understanding in town areas are more modern and liberal. It assists me to get proper freedom in attaining the educational and developing my skills during the overall lifelong process. Many sociologists stated that people residing in the town areas are more likely to gather proper knowledge and professional skill during their lifelong process as compared to the people residing in the village areas. I have grown up a well-trained and modern society in the town, which assist me to gain positive thought and ideas. As the family is small and there is only one guardian in the family, my mother, my father had to deal with and manage different aspects in the family in order to provide me and my brother and sister with proper knowledge, education and understanding. Gender inequality and stereotyping affect the education and culture of society which affects the lifelong learning process of individual residing in the society (Chen et al. 2015). Although Nepal is going to be developed with proper educational, political and economic infrastructure, the society is still dealing with the high rate of gender inequality which represents the disparity as well as comparison in the education system and culture. I have to experience bias regarding the gender of people, which affect my early childhood innocence and experience. Although I have a highly supportive family background, in an external environment such as school and colleges I have to face the discrimination and high level of disparities in order to meet own right and basic needs. As stead by Ersoy and Güneyli (2016), the lifelong learning process is adversely affected by their equal education facilities and huge disparities in t culture..I was luckiest that my parent did not pay any attention towards the gender bias, and provide the equal attention opportunities to me, my brother and sister. This is the reason; we have gained strong positive and creative thoughts which assist to proceed in our professionals as well as in personal life. For attaining cheap and effective education, my siblings and I had completed our education from a government school in Nepal. In terms of education and developing the cultural understanding, within us, my sibling and I always got proper assistance from our parent. However, the rising gender bias and discrimination based on sex, pose a direct adverse impact on my professional life such as on my education and cultural activities.

During the lifelong process, my mother’s contribution was unavoidable and crucial. Although she was not very educated, she was highly modern, strong and supportive. As compared to other mothers in my society who are the housewives, my mother had a highly modern viewpoint. In my society, the majority of mothers were housewives, who posed stress on their daughter for focusing on cooking and other homemaker activities, rather than on educational and other professional development. On the contrary, my mother, in spite of being housewives, she always assisted and encourages me in my education and learning process. Because of her commitment and dedication, I was able to develop my psychological strength in dealing with gender inequality in society. As stated by Griffiths and García-Peñalvo (2016), the mother is the first teacher at the beginning of the lifelong learning process. In my case, my mother was one of the inspirations for me, who always support me to proceed in my professional career through developing my self-confidence and personal skill. As compared to the culture of my society, she represented the unique characterises which is based on assisting girl children in every aspect of life and providing them with the equal facility and right similar to the male child in promoting their professional and personal development. Although she was housewife, she always wanted me and my sister to make grab higher designation in the professional career. Therefore, when it comes to the comparison with the entire culture and other mothers in society, my mother is being always a motivation and string inspiration to my success. My dad has always been inspiration and support in my professional and personal career. His activities and principles teach me how I can deal with the different challenges in life. As opined by Isaksson et al. (2015), a father is one of the important supports in the lifelong learning process, which assist the individual to develop new skills, understanding and knowledge that is the individual in dealing with any situation in the professional and personal life. My father was grown up is a very large family in a small village. He had to make many responsibilities in the family as he had many siblings; he had to leave his education, as he was the earning members of the family. He had to work in the firm and earns money as he is obliged to pay for his siblings’ education. Ever after marriage, he had to deal with many responsibilities. As compared to the other father in my society, I found my father as always supportive, decent and honest individual, who always follows his principle at any aspect of life. I have gained the hardworking mentality from him, which assist me to deal with any situation. As compared to the other fathers who always prioritise the gender bias and discrimination in the society, my father always inspire me to get a better education and equal opportunities in society, he acts as one of an idol in my professional and personal career, who assists me to be honest and decent in any situation of life. On the contrary, Isele and Cosgun (2018) argued that many times in the lifelong learning process, people need to stubborn and arrogant to in order to deal with the critical situation. In this aspect, My father assists me in how to maintain own dignity and respect in arms of dealing with each issue without influenced by the other provocation.

As compared to other siblings in my town, I found my sibling more helpful and positive which assist me in my professions and personal development throughout the learning process. As mentioned by Jõgi et al. (2015), siblings are the peers who assist the individual in developing a friendly attitude, positive thoughts and a cooperative mentality. I and my siblings are suicides in the government school, in which we had shared, own opinion, views and decisions. Moreover, my siblings always support me in my decision and opinion. On the contrary, Isele and Cosgun (2018) argued that, for developing the critical thinking skill and understanding ability, conflict and arguments among siblings are also important. During childhood, I had experienced the arguments with my sibling in different issues. In this aspect to mitigate the issues and make us understand the important or synergistic work and collaboration, this is why I and my sibling are able to develop our adjusting ability and collaborative approach which assist us, to adapt in any situation. Moreover, during the study, I had made the group discussion with my siblings which had developed my ability to ream working. On the contrary Jones et al. (2017), argued that sometimes team working makes the individual depend on other people. As compared to my siblings’ majority of the siblings in the society are affected by the mindset of discrimination, bias and social discrimination. This me the society raise the conflict between brother and sisters. Most of them in my society thought that they should be prioritised than their sister, as compared to this situation in the society, my siblings are free from this mentality as my parent were strictly the discrimination and gender bias. When I was four years old, I had got the first admission to school in my town. This was one of the most life challenges even in my lifelong learning process. As stated by Kaplan (2017), the early childhood years is important for gaining positive and highly productive experience which assists people to set their characteristics and behaviour at a later age. Moreover, during this age, my father was shifted to the new home in town, which was another important opportunity in my life, with living in town as compared to the village. My family and I got several opportunities such as educational facilities, proper job opportune and societal support. At this age, I found out that my parents work hard for making me and my siblings educated and polite. This age I gained how to make friends at schools, which enhance my ability to involve in the synergistic working process, I began to share my views and decisions with peers and my teacher. As compared to private school, public school is more focused towards gender equality and proper educational framework to girls and boys. As compared to the other children of this age, I gained the proper knowledge on gender equality, honesty and hardworking mentality, that assist me to develop bias less and positive attitude in my mind., My parent assist me at this age to gain creative ideas and thoughts by assisting me in essay writing and making any poem which develops my decision-making ability and problem-solving skill.

Although I had strong support from my parent’s regarding meeting my basic needs such as education, professional training, healthcare and nutrition, I had faced severe discrimination in my school and college life. As stated by Mendez et al. (2018), inequality in society has a potential impact on the cultural, social and economic framework of the country. Although Nepal is now progressing towards gender equality, there is still the huge rate of gender inequality, bias and discrimination in a small town and village areas. My parent was highly supportive of my education and other rights which provide me with all privileges at the home as compared to the other children. However, in the external environment, such as in school, colleges and coaching classes I had experienced the male prioritisation, stereotyping and the gender bias that not only affects my innocence but also poses an adverse impact on my self-confidence. Sometimes I used to be depressed and anxious, due to the discrimination in the society which poses an adverse impact on my study and professional development process. As stated by Nguyen and Walker (2016), equality is important for developing a positive lifelong learning experience for individuals. Although the external society is full of inequality and bias I was lucky to have great parent and sibling who always support to deal with the unequal and discriminative education system in an external society that enhances my strength and self-confidence. Moreover, the Nepal government has also developed Acts and legislative obligations for protecting girl’s rights, which assists me and other girls in society to meet our basic rights and needs. Patriarchal society is denoted as the system that is governed and dominated by men. Nepal is Patriarchal in nature, in which women have very limited rights and powers in society. On growing up in this society was not easy and effective for many times. I had to face the severe discrimination, limitations and obligations in external society in terms of getting education and jobs. As stated by Pascal and Gaywood (2017), Patriarchal structure in society affects the overall economic, social, political and cultural development of the entire country. In my society, the Patriarchal culture leads to develop of superstitions and wrong prejudices that pose illegal boundaries on women. Women in my society are devoid of proper health facilities, education, social support and positive culture. This is why the majority of the women in Nepal are housewives, who are not able to take any decision at home as well as in eh society. In this aspect, my mother, being a housewife, has the full liberty to take her own decision and choose. My father supported her in each aspect of life, which also develops a positive mentality and thoughts within me and my siblings. My mother not only trained me in educational and professional life, but she provided me with honesty, decency, politeness and respect. This is why, in spite of Patriarchal society in my country, I and my family strictly believe in shared companionship of both male and females. Due to the support and shared decision-making process by my parents, I and my sibling have gained the thoughts of equality, synergistic work and team working process.

At the age of 4 years, I had gained the support and assistance from both parents as well as from my siblings. I was able to understand the effectiveness of partnership working. As stated by Quendler and Lamb (2016), partnership working is important in the early year learning process, which develops the collaborative approach and friendly nature in the individual. At this age, I learned about different subjects, nature, different people and responsibilities. I notice the activities and performance of father and mothers. Their hardworking and committed nature inspired me towards my education and success. According to Quendler and Lamb (2016), children learn from their parents and teachers about different activities which assist them to set their future behaviour. During higher school period, I learned about the team working and group discussion, this process assisted me to develop decision-making ability and quick problem-solving skill. As society was Patriarchal and full of gender bias, I have also faced the issues of male prioritisation, sometimes it affects my self-confidence and decisions. Moreover the example of other parents in the society, who poses stress on girl child to restrict their education and professional development, I got depressed and frightened. However, with support and assistance from my parent and siblings, I was able to overcome fear. Each aspect of life brings about a wonderful opportunity for people to learn about new things and collect new ideas and thoughts. When I attended Higher School, I had no idea what actually I have to in my future career. I was aimless, which made it difficult for me to proceed in a proper direction that can bring about success into my professional life. As stead by Quendler and Lamb (2016), the lifelong learning process is one of the important learning frameworks that assist individual to learn a new skill, thoughts and understanding in an aspect of their life. After attaining higher school in my town, I had gained a close association of my trenchers and the peers. Lecture of teachers, their motivation classes and the group-discussion with my friends assisted me to set proper aim in life. In this stage, I understood the importance of clear aim in life which assists individuals in setting the action plans and activities in order to meet goals. As stated by Pascal and Gaywood (2017), lifelong learning process allows people to execute their abilities and strength and decide the best pathway that leads them towards their bright future. During the higher secondary rededication, I had learned about how to set clear objectives for the near future which would assist e people in order to gain better designation in the future profession field. Through discussing career and professional life with teachers and peers I learned about different skills such as critical thinking skill, the decision makes skill, problem-solving skill and decision-making skill which is important for professional life in order to deal with any situation. Clear communication, team-working and synergistic work with peers assists me to execute my own strength, abilities and weakness. Though executing own strength and weakness, it is possible for me to set such future objectives had aims that would be relevant to my skill and ability.

As compared to the village, the town has more advantages in social, political, economic and demographic aspects (Pascal and Gaywood, 2017). When I was four years old, my family had shifted to town from the village area. As compared to villages’ areas in Nepal, town are more advanced, well-structured and modern, which assist me in proper education facilities, enriched culture and positive views. Town provides more economic facilities to my family, which assisted my fathers to have proper job opportunities in order to afford my education and basic needs. Moreover, villages are more exposed to wrong prejudices, superstitions and the stereotyping as compared to cities and towns in Nepal. Although I had to face the male prioritisation and discrimination in the external society, it was less than that in the village areas. The decision taken by father to shift into town areas is one of the effective and highly appropriate decisions which assisted me in facilities of higher education and job opportunities in the city. Residing in towns, I had learned to develop my own understanding and the thoughts in a positive manner in order to adapt my attitude and behaviour in modern society. Moreover, improved transportation, a huge number of higher schools and colleges and the availability of better jobs in town, assist me to avail these facilities in order to archive my future target. From the time when I joined the higher school, I was fond of gathering information about the sociological culture, its impacts on people and different aspects of society. I had a great interest in sociology, which I think one of the important subjects that assist an individual to gather vast knowledge on the society culture, structure and its performance as well as the impact of the performance the human life. According to Samad et al. (2019), social perspectives and changing trend in community pose a positive impact on the learning process of the individual. In my society, I had experienced the male priority and dominance, high level of bias regarding education and rights, gender discrimination and disrespect to women. This social culture affects adversely on my learning and developing the process. The experience that I had gathered from my society was completely different from what I had learned through sociology. This poses a high level of contradiction in my thoughts and decisions. As stated by Smith (2016), in order to understand any subject with collecting in-depth knowledge, it is important for the individual to connect the subject with the practical example. In my case, I was unable to gain any similarity with practical society knowledge and theoretical knowledge. This assists me to develop my analysing and critical thinking skill, through applying which I was able to differentiate between the wrong and right decision as well as activities in society. Moreover, the study of sociology, assist me to judge each social aspects in the community in order to understand the underlying meaning of each aspect.

After completing higher education, I was confused about my career. I did not have any clear future goals that would be relevant to my skill and ability; I had discussed these issues with my father. He advised me to go for teaching in sociology, as I had received a degree in this subject. According to Samad et al. (2019), setting relevant future objectives is important for an individual in order to assist them to grab good job opportunities. As my father was the one earning member in my family and he had to afford the education of three children, I think that teaching is the best profession that is relevant to my skills and economic condition. I had joined in a private school in my town as a sociology teacher. I had found teaching as the best career for me as it provides me with opportunities to implement the subjective knowledge that I gained during my study. In this school, I had worked with seventy-nine teaching and non-teaching staffs. I have gained positive and highly fruitful experience in this school that assist me to develop new skills and shape my existing skills. I learned team-working and ownership worked with teachers, parents and students. I also worked in partnership with the teaching staffs for preparing lessons, classroom instruction and recording student’s achievement. This process assists me to develop the team working ability. In each week, I had to attend a meeting with parent and principal in which I used my verbal communication skill, which not only improves interactive ability but also assisted me to shape my spoken English. During the teaching process had developed my writing skill, as I had to make student’s documents, their achievement reports, appraisal document and different applications for staffs and principals,. Through this process, I had learned how to use a simple and correct world in order to make a clear and understandable document that can be easily understood by anyone. Moreover, in a different time, I have to face the argument and conflict with teaching and non -teaching staffs, which allow me to implement my presence of a kind and problem-solving skill to deal with this situation. My married life teaches me new lesson of life, which assisted me to understand life better than earlier. In Nepal, the legal age of marriage is 20 for both women and men. I had three years relationship with one of my colleagues and finally got married to him. According to Xu et al. (2017), Marriage is one of the important parts of life that assist people to deal with the new situation, culture and aspects. After my marriage, things were not very simple for me. Although I had a very careful and supportive husband, there was a lack of support from my in-laws. It was difficult for me to adapt in a new culture, facility background, principles and habits just after the marriage. This phase of life teaches me that, life is highly unpredictable, and there are many challenges in each step of life, which have to be dealt with proper understanding and right decisions. After marriage, I hardly got time for my own. All my day spent on making breakfast, go to the job, making dinner, handing the entire homemaking activities. I was unable to discuss these issues with my husband, as he was also very busy with his work and liabilities. At this point, I understand that sometimes people are helpless in front of the situation and they have to adjust to the situation by trying the level best. My husband always shows support to me and my career, but I had to face severe pressure from my in-laws to leave my job. They forced me indirectly to leave the job, as now I have family responsibilities and I should provide more time to my in-laws and family. It was quite difficult for me to continue the job by dealing with the obstacles. After marriage, I had learned the new lesson of life, adjustment with the situation by applying patience and presence of mind. Moreover, it also teaches me how to be positive in the most negative situation in order to find out a better way to proceed in life.

My in-laws play import roles in influencing my learning process after marriage adversely. They were highly unsupportive and backdated. This was the reason behind their negative attitude and approaches towards my professional career. My mother in laws was a housewife and she had the perception that female children are born to be dominated by their husband. She also had the perspectives that women after marriage would prioritise their husband's decision, principles, and culture and will not take the decision on their own. My father-in-law believed that women should always be subordinate to men in society and they did not have their own decisions and opinion. These perceptions pose an adverse impact on my overall experience and learning process. As I had grown up in a highly modern and liberal family, the sudden changes in family perspectives and principles after the marriage reduce my self-confidence. The superstitions and wrong prejudices of my in-laws affected adversely my decision-making ability and problem-solving skills. The perception of my in-laws comes from their poor education and upbringing structure, which poses an adverse effect on their mentality, opinions and moral values. Negativity and conservative behaviour of my in-laws assisted me to see the negative chapter of life which is full of challenges and obstacles. Moreover, it also teaches me how to use the positive nature, strong decisions, and presence of mind to deal with each of these issues in a proper way. After almost four years of my marriage, my husband and I shifted to the UK for my further study. This situation had brought a great opportunity for me to get rid of the conservative and stubborn culture of my in-laws' house. However, in the first moment after reaching the UK, it seemed that every challenge in my life is going to be reduced. However, after sometimes, I felt it is difficult to adapt to the new values, principles, social values and community structure in the new country. As I being to a small town in Nepal, I was not able to speak in fluent English like the people in the UK. My husband and I had to face the communication barriers in this country, which made it difficult for me to interact with people. This phase of life teaches me that, in life, it is important for people that how much he or she can hold the patience and self-confidence in order to deal with a new situation. In the UK I got chance to live with an English family where I got chance to interact with many people and observe English living style. My husband also tries to interact with his office staffs in a better manner. Within one month I was able to manage our communication skill. This stage assisted me to learn how people can solve any critical issues with applying timely and right approaches. Moreover, UK based culture is highly modern, liberal and sophisticated. Here I had found that women and men both are equally treated in the society with proper respect and dignity. In the UK women are getting the respect to share their decisions and opinions in any issue. They are equivalent to the male. This experience assisted me to again confront the new chapter of life that, life is changing in each moment and provide challenges and opportunities to each people. Now it is up to the people, that whether they will go with the changes to make the betterment of their life or they will stop dealing with challenges which can confine their life in the small boundary.

After the settlement in the UK, my husband assisted me to get admission in the university for higher study. However, the overall experience of study in UK based university was not impressive and positive for me. As I was not as fluent in English as the UK based students, I was taunted sarcastically by the peers at the classroom. Moreover the culture and standard of education in the UK were completely different from the education I have gained in Nepal. In most of the time, I hesitated to ask any question to my teachers. Moreover, I also hesitated to get any advice and suggestion from the peers due to the communication, cultural and complexion barriers. In this phase, I got support from international admission staffs and teachers at the university to improve my self-confidence. Moreover, I used to attend the spoken English class which assisted me to improve my interactive ability, I had overcome my hesitation and ask any queries and suggest from peers and teachers, this process assist me to understand that in life, everybody has to deal with challenges. For dealing with each challenge the individual needs to use proper decisions, right choice and approaches that assisted the individual to grab the opportunities discard the challenges. From the overall discussion, it can be conducted that lifelong learning process is the voluntary and self-regulated learning process, which assist the individual to gather experience regarding each stage of life, which not only develop professional aspects but also influence on their personal aspects. Through dealing with each issue in life, individual begin to understand life better than earlier. By dealing with each aspect of life, people can understand the truth of life stage. The lifelong experience about different stages of life, assist people to find out the unrevealed truth of life, which is full of challenges it assists the people, how to deal with challenges by applying their own strength and abilities in order to reach their goals.
