Task 1

1. There can be seven key characteristics defined for the project management:

The purpose of the project is required to be defined properly so that the end result can be gained easily without any hesitations.

The new innovative methods and procedures are required to be defined and understood by the help of this project.

1a. In project management various of the projects are being set and managed properly so that the work can be proceeded together properly. Numerous of the projects are being taken and proceed accordingly in the project integration method here. The budget and timings are required to be fixed properly so that these projects can be managed in a proper way (Kerzner, H., 2017). The stakeholder’s expectations are needed to be cleared and alternatives are required to be processed properly so that the management task can be processed properly in the project management.

The scope statement outlines the proper orientation and output of the projects that are required to be completed. List of stakeholders, features and various of the objectives are seen to be effective in this part of the scope statement. The project justification, scope, objectives and deliverables all are described in this scope statement. Moreover the final assumption and outcomes of the project scope are also being defined by the help of this scope statement. Project risk or milestones can be overcome by the help of these scope statements of the project. Project statement and project plan can be understood properly by the help of these scope statements (Meredith, 2017). The work breakdown structure can be said to be as reducing complicated activities in project management. Limits of the task are clearly defined here in this work breakdown structure.

The budget creation can be proceeded in two ways that are top to bottom and bottom up approach. The cost and expenditure of the project can be known easily by the help of this budget creation here. The work packages and different costing amounts are being seen in this part of the budget creation method. In top down approach the decisions are being made from the senior where prep decision making is being processed and then the work is followed in the same procedure (Fleming, 2016). In bottom up approach the team membership plays a good role in the providing the decision available.

There can be following four projects risk:

Technical risk: Modern development and tools are one of the risks found in the organizations today. The security and protection of those technological aspects in the organization are defined in this section clearly.

Supply risk: The supply and the management risk are seen from the beginning to the ending part.

Resource risk: Availability of resources are also a kind of risk that can be affecting the project management.

Expenditure risk: Budget and costing risk are seen to be available in this scenario (Burmistrov, 2018).

The above technological and budget risk can be overcome by the help of introducing a certain method of selecting the proper budget methodology.

The project evaluation will be the best method for determining the project's successful completion. A systematic methodology is proceed in this part for the better initiation of the project and successful competition of the project. The level of achievement and relevance of the project can be defined easily by the help of this project evaluation method. The critical examination and analysis of the project is being processed in this project evaluation (Paton, 2019). This project implementation, participation, quality of project managed services and enhancing the project management performance all can be seen in the project evaluation procedure.

Task 2

As a project manager my task is to refurbish the whole library and then manage the task of classrooms to be initiated. The refurbish process will be completed form the ground floor to the third floor and the library also. Most of the minute learning is also being seen to be completed in this project management task. My task is to recruit and select the proper applicant from the interview so that the organization can be benefitted from the new employees. I will first analyze the project life cycle to be initiated. The objectives and scope of the project is being defined in this project management (Alshawabkeh, 2019). The full refurbishment of classes and library comes into this process.

The scope of the project can be defined as completing of the refurbishment process in the whole classroom and the library. The overall project and project teams are under my supervision and required to be managed properly so that the whole project can be successfully completed. Then the whole management and completion task of organization is being initiated by me. Planning so the second task that comes into existence. In planning I have to recruit the new candidates and selection of human resource. In planning I need to meet the stakeholders and the prioritizing the goals so that the vision can be easily completed in the organization. Project schedule is been made and the whole project is being scheduled so that can be completed in the deadline. Issues and risk are required to be completed and managed properly in his planning part of project management (Kivilä, 2017). All the stakeholders attached to the organization will be presented the project plan for the completion of the task. Project management software’s are to be used in this section of planning so that the proper orientation of the project can be completed easily. Top project management tools will be initializing by me so that the project management can be initiated easily. Wrike is one the useful tool to be used in the organization in order to manage the project properly. Its benefit is that it can be setup an installed easily and very fast and the results are accurate in value (Kivilä, 2017). Wrike is one of the best useful methods for whole team management and collaborative work to be proceeded together. The efficient and fast working can be obtained by the help of this software tools. The interactive gadgets and smart boards are seen to be initialized in this planning method and the budget planning is also being initiated. A good learning atmosphere is created so that the classroom space can be initiated and managed properly in the planning procedure here (clarizen.com, 2020).

Then the next step is of project execution that is the looking at the proper output and deliverables for the project is seen here. The monitoring and controlling of the project is done for the implementation of range of project to be initialized properly. Here the time, cost, quality and risk are being kept into consideration for the execution process. The major problems here are the DLR train that passes from nearby and the noise is a big issue for the class room program. The latest technology and tools are required to be completely fitted in this part for the completion of the refurbishment procedure. Here the project can be initiated by the installation of the 20 new workstations and five new workstations in the second platform for the job searching purpose. A deadline is also fixed so that the project completion can be preceded possibly in a fixed time. The goals set can be achieved easily within these deadlines. This task can be completed and the building is vacant and the class room is not running. For the budgeting purpose university of Sunderland have offered E8millions for completing the project within two years. I have the full contacts of the stakeholder and the clients those are needed for the building of the whole premises. A proper communication and effective decision are being formed in this part for the proper completion of the project management. Project control is the important one for the task to be completed here in this project management part. Different stages and life cycle of the task and project management here are being initiated properly. Project is needed to be finished in time and so the deadline is being kept for the completion of the task and for the project to be initiated in an ethical way (Cha, 2019). The deadlines are needed to be completed and followed properly so that the trust and belief of customers can be followed up easily. This is generally a kind of tendering process where the refurbishment of library and classrooms are oriented in an ethical manner. Lecture theatres and classrooms are also required to be refurbished properly in this tendering process. A minute learning method is required for completion of project to be presented in this case. The whole project and my project teams are being headed by me and the task are required to be completed properly by my teams in refurbishment process. There are a lot of complexity and uncertainty regarding the refurbishment process here.

These complexities can be resolved by following methods:

a. The overview of a design of the refurbished library and classroom so that construction work can be complete easily.

b. Percentage of contract value and budget is to be formulated in this case before the completion of the project.

c. All the employee and their budget is required to be formulated before the completion of the project.

d. Project site is to be accessed before so that a brief overview of the construction work can be made easily.

High design information is required to be formulated so that refurbishment project can be formulated easily. The information flow is required to be provided between the clients so that proper design formulation can be produced here. Decision making and proper implantation of the project is required to be formulated here easily (Juan, 2019). The site managers and employers are required to be informed regarding the training and knowledge. The provisional sums and calculation of the refurbishment procedures are required to be managed properly. A good number of subcontractors and contractors will be employed so that the refurbishment process can be started properly (Liu, 2018). Difficulties will be there but ijn order to resolve these difficulties the teams are divided into small fragments so that the task can be competed in an easy manner. As the project manager I was involved in following task:

The estimation and negotiation of the budget. The cost of the resources and tools are also required to be managed in this case. Mainly the budget formulation is being competed in this selection for the successful calculation of the budget to be initiated here.

Schedule and timetables are required to be managed before the initiation of this refurbishment process. Most of the proper strategies and method are being initialized and defined in this section for the completion of this project.

A proper information flow is required to be maintained by me between the clients, leaders and the stakeholders so that the progress can be analyzed easily (Fan, 2019). Interface between the lead and whole team members are to be maintained for the technical supports.

The key concepts regarding the project management are generally regarding the construction of the project where the skills and along with the ability are to be seen in this project management. The first one is initiating and conceiving the project. Feasibility of the project will be determined in this case before beginning. Generally the business goals and cost management can be easily incorporated in this scene (Biggins, 2018). The successful definition is to be provided next so that the proper result can be gained here easily. Outlining the project timeline and milestones are required here for the budgeting purpose. Scope, quality and communication is especially seen here for the refurbishment process. The renovation process can be helpful in the supporting, web enhanced or traditional education proceeding in the campus in this case. The main up gradation will be preceded in the structure and the life safety requirement in the campus. The classroom and student study space will be provided in this renovation procedure so that can be utilized for multipurpose performance. Te cost summary is to be evaluated here between the acquisitions, consultant services, contracts, tools, resources and others. The project scheduling will be performed here properly. The benefits of this renovation will be discussed to the stakeholders and to the whole team members (El-Telbany, 2017). This will be helpful in further enrollment of the new student and can be helpful in giving a good name to the campus. The capital development will be my further plan for the campus to be gaining a good name. The health and safety of the building is required to be maintained so that it will be safe against any natural calamity incoming in future. This campus is required to be prone to the natural calamity issues so that the building can resist to the seismic waves. Elevated walkways, fire extinguishers and other safety tools are required in this campus while in the renovation. Sustainability is the big issues to be arranged in the campus so that flexibility can be gained in this renovation process (researchgate.net, 2019). In planning process the correlation are to be drawn so that the performance can be easily evaluated in this case. But if the positive correlations exist the uncertainty and complexity behavior can be said to be high and the performance is low in this case. Then the control in the plan is also seen to be difficult in such situation. A need of technical organization and planning is preceded further in this project planning. Five characters are required and responsible here for the decision making in the construction stage. These are client, estimator, planner, site management and subcontractors. Then meetings and direct contacts will be required here so that for increasing the efficient processing in the organization. Formalization is required here so that informal objective of the project can be maintained here in this case easily. Increasing the capacity can be helpful in the refurbishment process by the controlling and managing of those tasks (feigefu.com, 2020). The execution of plan is seen to be next phase where the schedule and task planned are required to be put into execution part. It can be divided into two of the parts and those are executing and monitoring and controlling. Project teams are required to be analyzed so that the task required to be performed are analyzed here easily. Then the progresses in project are being monitored by the help of monitoring and controlling process. As a project manager my task is to spend most of many times on this progress monitoring and analyzing. Different details of the construction are required to be bring out and informed to the stakeholders and the contractors. Risk or the potential disputes are to be found out and analyzed in this section properly. Thus there are five main areas to be looked into:

All the contractors, employers, subcontractors, planners, consultants and others are to be focused in this section properly.

Many times there can be seen a need of change in legal and fixed contract forms so that flexibility can be provided to the people attached in this project. Legal advice can be beneficial in this time for the project completion.

A proper team is required in the legislation and building the regulation of the project to be initiated here in this section.

Then procurement and buying of the resources required here can be the next step or strategy in this section (Holzbaur, 2016). Then the project is required to be thoroughly regulated so that the missing out things can be managed and understood here properly.

Insurance: A plenty of dangers can be easily observed in these construction sites. This safety of the life for the employers and workers re to be managed in this section properly. As the project manager my task will be of getting informed about the little details that are necessary in concerning the insurance agreements.

The final stage is the closure of this project. As the project manger my task is to describe what went well and the potential failures that exist in the project. A project report will be finally conducted in which the final budget and the remaining cost can be determined. This can be helpful in deciding the task that are unfinished or are remaining here in this project. The valued feedback will then be produced finally.
